Generation Z Color Palettes
Generation Z, as they have been coined, consist of those born in 1995 or later. This generation makes up 25.9% of the United States population, the largest percentage, and contribute $44 billion to the American economy. By 2020, they will account for one-third of the U.S. population, certainly worth paying attention to. They are the true Digital natives, they are self aware, self-reliant and goal oriented. As part of our Generational Palettes collection, PPG has curated three color stories to reference when designing spaces for Gen Zers.
Accent Colors
Raw and Earthy
This core color palette demonstrates a raw and earthy quality connected with nature.
Muted Grays
Our Muted Grays palette shows overall color levels becoming chalkier and tinted, with a muted green and a misty blue best demonstrating this movement and asserting themselves as key colors.
Fashion
Softened pinks and oranges continue to transform and lilac increasingly becomes an important color for the Generation Z market. Elevating these shades further is the resemblance to sci-fi or high shine looks, creating energy and a dramatic appeal.
