Brian Carson as CEO
CRANBERRY TWP., Pa., February 19, 2025 – The Pittsburgh Paints Company (“PPC” or “the Company”), a newly independent leader in the paints and coatings sector, today announced the appointment of Brian Carson as Chief Executive Officer.
Brian, who has more than 30 years of experience in the building products industry, was most recently President and CEO of AHF Products, a manufacturer of hard surface flooring for residential and commercial interiors. Through a growth-oriented agenda focused on innovation and acquisition, Brian helped spearhead AHF’s rapid rise to becoming one of the largest hard surface flooring producers in the world. Brian brings to PPC deep established relationships with big-box retailers, independent dealers, and national distributors, as well as experience with operating owned stores directly serving professional contractors. Prior to AHF, Brian spent 12 years with Mohawk Industries, Inc., ultimately serving as President, Mohawk Flooring North America.

Mr. Carson’s appointment follows several recent senior-level appointments at PPC, including Joe Durham as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Durham most recently served as Chief Financial Officer at Cabinetworks Group, the country’s largest privately owned cabinet manufacturer with more than 7,000 employees. Mr. Durham brings extensive leadership experience in building products, driving accountability and analytics to achieve strategic initiatives, and operating as a true business partner to the CEO. Prior to Cabinetworks, Mr. Durham served as the Chief Financial Officer of Masco Cabinetry.
The Company also appointed Brian Padden as President, Retail. With 30 years of experience at Sherwin Williams, where most recently he served as President, Consumer Brands Group, Mr. Padden is a transformational leader with a proven ability to drive change within organizations with an ultimate focus on the customer. Mr. Padden’s extensive understanding of the paints and coatings landscape, and strong track record in building merchant-centric strategies, will be instrumental across the PPC organization.
